Alicia Shively is Research Editor at Water Tower Research. Alicia has worked as a writing coach and academic editor for over 25 years. Her coaching and editing work focuses on writing process, effective argument structure, and clear and concise writing.
In addition to her independent editorial work, Alicia has been an Associate Faculty member at Royal Roads University, developing and teaching writing courses for the Faculty of Management, Centre for Environmental Education, School of Communication and Culture, School of Tourism and Hospitality, and Continuing Studies. She has also taught courses in technical writing, argumentation, and writing for statistics at Carnegie Mellon University.
Previously, Alicia worked as a Content Editor and Knowledge Manager for BodyMedia, a Knowledge Management Associate for FreeMarkets, an Implementation Specialist for Publishing Business Systems, a Research Scientist for the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, and a Production Assistant for Alfred A. Knopf, a division of Random House.
Alicia holds a BA in French from Oberlin College, an MA in Comparative Literature from the University of Wisconsin – Madison, and is ABD in Rhetoric at Carnegie Mellon University.
