We are pleased to host Crown Electrokinetics CEO Doug Croxall on November 18, 2021 at 2 pm EST discussing an overview of the company's smart glass solutions as part of our WTR Fireside Chat Series.
Crown’s purpose is to provide an affordable smart glass solution that can lower energy use and reduce carbon emissions to the existing 5.6 million commercial buildings in the United States. Crown is launching its first product called Smart Window Insert powered by DynamicTintTM, an affordable, solar-powered (no hardwiring to building) smart glass insert that can be easily installed to the interior side of windows in commercial office buildings. The company announced its first customer in late September: MetroSpaces, a prop-tech based commercial office building owner in Texas. Crown’s Smart Window Insert is based on its proprietary and patent-protected electrokinetic technology, a pigment-based thin film initially developed by Hewlett-Packard.
Crown’s Smart Window Insert absorbs sunlight, keeping the office cooler longer, thereby reducing HVAC usage, electricity usage, and the amount of carbon released into the environment. Crown’s Smart Window Insert easily installs into existing window frame and uses Crown’s electrokinetic thin-film technology that transitions from clear to dark in seconds. Crown’s Smart Window Inserts transform a single-pane windows into energy-efficient, double-pane windows.
